What is Live Rosin

Live rosin is produced by using frozen cannabis. After harvest, the buds can be frozen until they are ready to be processed. As there is no drying and curing, the result is a much better aroma and flavour the reason is the final curing can discard up to 95 % of the plant terpene.

Live rosin is type of hash rosin and is considered to be the pièce de resistance of solventless extraction.

After the cannabis is frozen, it must undergo an ice water hash extraction which can isolate the trichomes. This can be further processed by using a rosin press and which then produce a flow of live rosin with purest grade of flavour.

Is a Live Rosin and Live Resin different?

Simply put live rosin is the solventless version of live resin. Basically, live rosin is extracted by hash washing and rosin pressing whereas live resin is extracted by hydrocarbon solvents usually in a closed-loop extraction, with live resin this extract required to purged again to remove residual solvent and may involve dewaxing or winterization.

Both types of rosin give you a terpene profile for enhanced flavor and aroma, however live rosin is greater grade option because there’s no solvent or other chemicals during the extraction process as it is performed by just using gravity, pressure and heat.
